History of GPR Technology
Ground Penetrating Radar technology was pioneered by ERA Technology of Leatherhead, Surrey, England, in the 1980s to locate plastic landmines as part of a British Ministry of Defense contract. GPR innovation became a key factor in reducing the risk of locating dangerous, time-delayed bombs by imaging through rubble and deep subsurface. Due to these early systems’ success, commercial versions were developed in 1990. These versions incorporated improvements designed to make the products more user-friendly and accessible to a broader customer base.

Our History
1994
US Radar was formed in 1994 as a commercial market introduction partner for ERA Technology. The company’s original mission was to promote and distribute the Seeker SPR technology, determine and test new applications, and identify and implement product improvements.
2002
In 2002, US Radar acquired complete manufacturing and engineering capabilities as well as worldwide customer marketing, support, and service from ERA Technology. Since then, the company has developed numerous product and software innovations and continues to do so based on global customer feedback.
